Why gutters matter

Gutters that overflow or drain next to the house are one of the most common causes of basement water, foundation cracks and rotted fascia. When we replace a roof we check your gutters too, and they can often be kept if they’re in good shape.

Should I replace my gutters when I replace my roof?

Not always. If your gutters are sound and properly pitched, we work around them. If they’re sagging, leaking or undersized, doing both at once saves a second setup and makes sure the new drip edge feeds the gutters correctly.

Are 6-inch gutters better?

On larger or steeper roofs, yes. A 6-inch gutter carries noticeably more water than a 5-inch one, so it’s less likely to overflow in a heavy Ohio storm.
