Roof replacement in Dayton, Ohio

We’ve replaced more than 220 roofs across the Miami Valley, from Dayton, Huber Heights and Vandalia to Fairborn, Tipp City, Springfield and Englewood. See them on our project map. Most of our work is full tear-off replacement with Owens Corning architectural shingles, and most homes are finished in one to two days, depending on size and weather.

What goes into every Cardinal roof

  • Complete tear-off down to the roof deck. We don’t layer new shingles over old ones.
  • Deck inspection and repair. Soft or rotted sheathing is replaced with new OSB before anything goes on top, and you’re told about it first.
  • Ice & water shield at the eaves, valleys and around chimneys and skylights, where Ohio winters cause the most leaks.
  • Synthetic underlayment across the rest of the deck.
  • New drip edge at the eaves and rakes to guide water into the gutters.
  • Owens Corning Starter Strip at the edges to lock the first row of shingles against wind.
  • Owens Corning TruDefinition Duration shingles, the architectural shingle we install most.
  • Owens Corning hip & ridge caps and ridge ventilation, so the attic can breathe.
  • New pipe and step flashing where the roof meets walls and chimneys.
  • Clean-up and a final walk-through, with photos of the finished roof.

More roofing questions

How long does a roof replacement take?
Most homes take one to two days. Larger or steeper roofs, or ones with a lot of deck repair, can take longer.
Do I need to be home?
No, but we’d like to see you at the start and at the final walk-through. Move cars out of the driveway and take fragile items off interior walls, since hammering can shake things loose.
Do I need a new roof or just a repair?
Curling or missing shingles, heavy granule loss in the gutters, repeated leaks, or a roof over 20 years old usually point to replacement. A single storm-damaged area or failed flashing can often be repaired. The free inspection tells you which, with photos.
What does a new roof cost?
It depends on the size and pitch of the roof, how many layers are coming off, and how much deck repair is needed. Your inspection gives you an exact written price.
